FACILITIES - SOUTH EAST GYM

Our new South East Gym is everything you'd expect from a Training Day! It’s designed by training fanatics, for training fanatics.

The gym isn't just about health and fitness for us, it's a crucial part of our lives, like eating and sleeping, it's our second home. The gym is where we can find a sense of peace, certainty and progress. It's our playground, our sanctuary.


GYM OVER TWO FLOORS - SOUTH EAST

Enter our driveway from Ferntree Gully Road near the Corner of Stud Road, into our 60 space car park. Tap your membership pass and be greeted by a friendly team member. You'll spend most of your heavy lifting days on the ground floor, hypertrophy and accessory work on the upper floor. Wave at a few familiar faces, say a hello or two. Now you're about to get in the zone!

GROUND FLOOR - SOUTH EAST

The ground floor is a heaven for weightlifters, powerlifters, group training lovers, and functional athletes. Two turf tracks, 10 and 20 meters in length. 6 designated weightlifting platforms, 3 carpet surfaced powerlifting platforms, 3 competition spec combo racks, 10 cell squat rig with monkey bars in between. A group training section where we run our boxing and lifting classes, a yoga studio, showers and changeroom amentities, and a shop to top up your training supplies.

UPPER FLOOR - SOUTH EAST

This floor is where we keep the common but neccesary stuff. Machines for every muscle group, 6 more bench press stations, dumbbells up to 70kg, cable stations, arms area, and a row of cardio machines facing the windows. We've kitted out this floor with some of the most reputable brands such as Nautilus, Hammer Strength and True Fitness. We've even got an elevator for you to avoid those post legday stairs.

 

MACHINE CENTRAL - SOUTH EAST

All of our bench presses are Australian made and have spotter arms (not shown in the render), so you can feel safe during those quiet hours where spotters aren't easy to find. Most of our plate loaded machines are Hammer Strength branded, and pin loaded machines are Nautilus branded. We have a few pieces of specialty machines such as the Pendulum squat, the Glute drive, and the rarely seen Lateral Deltoid.

DUMBBELLS N' BENCHES - SOUTH EAST

4 rows of dumbbells from 1kg all the way up to 70kg. We've learnt that it's actually not the equipment in this section that matters the most, but the space. We've ensured to leave enough space between the dumbbell racks and the benches so someone can return their weights while you're doing your dumbbell presses. The arms section is also separated and instead of filling the space with extra benches, we've left it empty. And we're 100% you will appreciate this on arms day.

CABLES N' THINGS - SOUTH EAST

On top of two big cable stations, we've added an extra tricep station on the end of each one, so you can still do your cable flies when someone just wants to use one end for tricep pushdowns. Apart of those cable stations, are also 2 lat pulldowns and 2 cable seated rows. Common but neccesary.

 

CARDIO SECTION - SOUTH EAST

TRUE Fitness treadmills, with incline and decline functions. The usual Ellipticals, all kinds of bikes, and of course, the ultimate Stairmaster stair mills. Overlooking Ferntree Gully Road, you get reminded that you are in the gym making the progress that those people driving home are missing out on. Go you!

BAGS N' GROUP ZONE - SOUTH EAST

Sometimes you just need to hit something. These bags are here to keep you out of trouble. If that's not fun enough for you. Our Boxfit classes are the most popular classes we have. On top of this, the floor in this group training zone is designed to handle weight dumping. It comes in handy in our Barbell Fit and HIIT classes where you simply don't have the energy left to put the weights down softly. So you let the weights know how much you're hurting!

CLASS ROOM - SOUTH EAST

We can run a variety of classes in this room, from Yoga to High Intensity Interval Training. Take a look at the 'Classes' section to find out more. Two floor to ceiling windows in this room which looks out to Ferntree Gully Road. When classes are not running, this is another open training space for anything you want. Or just pose!

 

BASKETBALL COURT - SOUTH EAST

This is a special feature of our South East gym. How can we have a Kobe mural in the gym without a place you can practice his iconic fade aways? This is a proper outdoor half court with NBA spec line markings. The special flooring is made for commercial outdoor basketball with shock absorbing function to immitate the feel of an indoor court. The spring loaded basketball ring system is anchored into the ground, bolted onto a full sized glass backboard. This court is a part of our gym facilities with 24 hour access to our members. Join in on some pick up games casually under the sun, whatever happens on the court stays on the court. As a second function, this court can also be used for pickle ball.

POWER LIFTING AND WEIGHTLIFTING - SOUTH EAST

This is what Training Day Gym is known for. Yes we have the highly sought after Swedish made Eleiko Barbells out on the gym floor for members to use; Rogue powerlifting and weightlifting barbells, Competition combo racks, and your favourite carpet surfaced deadlifting platforms that we have to resurface regularly. Don’t forget the Calibrated weight plates! A regular weight plate can vary up to 300g in weight. Sure, that doesn't sound like much; But let's imagine you’re lifting 5 plates per side. In total, that's 3kg off the actual weight you think you're lifting. You head off to competition thinking you've done this weight before, and it doesn't move! Now you go searching for a gym with proper weight plates! We've saved you that painful experience.

PRIVATE HOT AND COLD THERAPY - SOUTH EAST

This is a PRIVATE recovery room booking! With both HOT and COLD therapy. Avoid the awkwardness of sharing this intimate space with a stranger; book this room out just for yourself and get the BEST hot and cold therapy experience! Speed up recovery, detoxification, relax, burn more calories, increase collagen production, the list goes on. STRENGTH CLASS

We run a variety of strength classes. This one is a full body strength.

A typical class will be structure by a variety of light to medium weights, you'll be taught how to lift with proper form, in a friendly and fun environment. The duration of these classes are between 30-60 mintues. They are great for building basic strength, they're programed by our own coaches, and no two classes are the exact same.

HIIT

High intensity interval training is a class based workout program; focusing on the use of light resistance and bodyweight exercises to get your heart pumping and calories burning to the maximum potential! Come and try one out, they're guaranteed to improve your day in just 45 minutes.

BOX FIT

A high intensity 45min blast with boxing drills. You will use and learn basic boxing techniques, combined with other body weight exercises. Which means this is a full body hiit session. For hygeinic reasons, remember to bring your own gloves!.

Every member is offered a complimentary trainer consultation upon sign up; our trainer will take you through a list of exercises, make you feel comfortable on the gym floor, and answer any questions you may have regarding your training.
