Fix What You Eat First - Training Day Gym

FIX WHAT YOU’RE EATING BEFORE YOU FIX HOW MUCH YOU’RE EATING

Often many people that are trying to lose weight and improve body composition will firstly cut their calories to something like 1000-1200 calories per day. This can often impede your ability to drop body fat and increase muscle mass, particularly if you’re already training. Under eating can cause a range of issues such as, poor digestion (constipation) mood swings (I.e hangryness), poor sleep, increased stress levels, poor circulation, up and down irregular blood sugar levels.

Here are some tips to ensure you don’t under eat

Consume at least 3 big meals a day
Include some form of protein at each meal (animal protein, dairy, whey, hemp seed, rice or pea supplement)
Consume lots of vegetables
Consume fibrous carbohydrates (vegetables, fruits, some whole grains)
Consume quality fats (butter and other quality dairy products, coconut, olive oil, avocado, fish, nuts, seeds)

If you are under eating, by increasing your caloric intake with quality foods you will start to nourish the body and improve your the digestive system, brain function, sleep patterns, and stress levels, which will in turn improve body composition.

I’m not saying that calories in vs calories out doesn’t work, I know that it can definitely be an effective way to increase or decrease weight, but it certainly is not the only factor in changing body composition.
